The ICE CityZen Award and CityZen Challenge is a free activity for teams of year 12-13 / S5 (Scotland) /year 13 (NI) students. The competition is made up of two parts:
The CityZen Challenge
Students play our award-winning online game to redesign their city and keep their citizens safe and happy over four hour-long sessions.
The ICE CityZen Award
Students are invited to submit a creative project which pitches a civil engineering improvement for their local area.
Taking part
Tell us your school wants to take part now by completing this short form and you’ll be notified when full competition information is available at the start of the summer term. Competing schools will be invited to register student teams from the start of the autumn term.
Why take part
- All students who complete the CityZen Challenge (game) will be recognised with a certificate of achievement from ICE – a world-leading professional engineering institution.
- Great prizes including money split between students and their school are awarded to the teams chosen as the top three creative pitches in the ICE CityZen Award.
- The competition is fun to take part in and develops students’ skills and confidence, plus boosts their understanding of engineering careers.
